Zachary Taylor Parkway App — Last updated April 16, 2026

The Zachary Taylor Parkway app is a free tourism guide operated by the Zachary Taylor Parkway Association in partnership with the Zachary Taylor Parkway Commission. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used.

Information We Collect

Location (approximate). The app may request access to your device's location to show your position on the parkway map and to deliver location-relevant notifications about nearby landmarks and events. Location data is processed on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

Push notification token. If you allow notifications, your device generates an anonymous token that identifies it for message delivery through Firebase Cloud Messaging (operated by Google). This token is not linked to your name, email, or any personal account. It is used solely to deliver parkway event alerts and safety advisories. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Basic analytics. The app may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as which screens are viewed) through Firebase. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used only to understand which features are most useful to visitors.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information.
• We do not require account creation or login.
• We do not collect payment information.
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or files.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — for push notification delivery. Firebase Privacy

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention

The app stores no personal data on any server. Anonymous push notification tokens are retained by Firebase until the app is uninstalled or notifications are disabled. No other data is retained.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
